SOCKS!! I LOVE SOCKS!!

So I have made socks for several people and now decided it was time for me to have a pair of my own. The "foot" part of my socks ended up being a little long - because I just wasn't sure what my size was. Next time I have some adjusting to do 'cause these hummers are HUGE!!

Size 4 dpns (double-point needles) and sock weight yarn of your choice. This is "self-striping" yarn. See all those lovely stripes? I swear I didn't do anything to make them stripe, they just DO. I'll post more about the pattern later. I had a great book as a guide and I want to give credit where it's due.

I had to start somewhere...here's to Kathryn

Dear readers (actually, I think Kathryn, you are the first),
This post is to celebrate that MY own SISTER has beat me to the blogging world (not that I'm competitive or anything!)...but I do credit her for inspiring me to start my own crafts blog. She has a wonderful one of her own as I'm sure you will be able to see as soon as I figure out how to add that to my page.

I absolutely LOVE everything about crafts. I have been doing them for as long as I can remember - probably even as a toddler. I love the feel of fabrics, paper, string, yarn, beads, GLUE, and tiny things that can get lost under beds, tables, chairs, and make messes! I crochet, knit, cross-stitch, sew, make beaded jewelry, paintings - acryllic and watercolor, glass painting, paper crafts, cards, scrapbook (well, I wish I did), anything glue and scissors can do, make hats, costumes, party favors, hair accessories, gifts for friends...so much I have done, and love to do.

Why start a blog? Because I rarely look back at things I have done, and plenty of people ask to see things I have made, or am working on (which usually a LOT of unfinished things or --"works-in-progress" as I call them) I am really good about researching new projects or ideas for new treasures, but not really documenting the ones I DO. Here's a go at it anyway. Thanks for reading. Please share what you think and where you get YOUR ideas from too. I'd love to know.

Happy crafting...
Esther
